Hello-
I'm currently trying to load software on a 2951. The specific software I'm attempting to load is 15.7-3.M7.
I've successfully loaded this software on a different 2951, but one of the 2951's in the lab keeps getting a error message saying:
%Error reading usbflash0:c2951-universalk9-mz.SPA.157-3.M7.bin (Bad service code)
Again, this worked on a different 2951 and the configurations are identical. Specifically, meaning I'm using a USB on both platforms. Simple command:
router#copy usbflash0:c2951-universalk9-mx-SPA.157-3.M7.bin flash0:
I'm not sure what the issue could be. Any assistance is appreciated.

Hey-
The router is not in rommon, and yes, I can see the software in the usb (dir usbflash0:). In fact, I used the same usb when I successfully loaded the same software on a different 2951. Regarding the flash0: directory, I see the old software and other files, nothing abnormal.

Hey again,
Yes, I get the message when trying to copy. And yes, there's more then enough space (417120256 bytes free). The software is only (115327348).

Hello-
Don't know if the USB is formatted, I suspect so. Also, the size is good, there's alot of space left.
Yes, the platforms are exactly the same. They both had the same software 15.1.
I see no logs when I insert the USB.
No, I can't show what the output is when I type command "dir usbflash0:"
I'm not sure what you're asking in the last sentence.

2951 has two USB ports at the back. You've connected the USB stick in port 0. Can you see port 1?

Cisco appliances are very "picky" about what USB brand support.
What is universally known is the maximum size is 16 Gb and needs to be formatted to FAT16.

Hey Leo-
I think I tired the other USB port but I can't recall. Will try tomorrow and let you know what happens.
Thanks,
