Hi All,

I have the cisco switch WS-C4948 running IOS 12.2(46)SG and local span session configured:

sw-4948>show monitor

Session 6

---------

Type : Local Session

Source Ports :

Both : Gi1/5-11,Gi1/21

Destination Ports : Gi1/4

Encapsulation : Native

Ingress : Disabled

Learning : Disabled

the total sum (input and output) of the traffic of source ports is not equal to output rate on destination port

Any idea what's wrong?

Thank You

j.mozolik.,

5 minute average measures interval of about 30 minutes. So there are two possible reasons.

1. set load-interval to 30 (seconds)

2. Counters do not correspond to the mirrored information.

As a side note: One TAC case that i saw about counters were deemed as a cosmetic bug and the results had to be read elsewhere.
