Dear team,
What is the need of lopback internal command, which we will enable under physical interface. in what scenarios we will use that.
Thanks in advance

Hi naveen
It provides and internal loop. Data is looped internally from Tx to Rx
This is used to test if your interface hardware is working fine

Hi Thnnks for the information.
If we assign an IP to that loopback enabled interface, wether it can be pingable. In our case we have tried not its not pingable. Like in windows we can ping 127.0.0.1 to test the NIC card .
Please suggest.
Thanks & Regards,
Naveen

you should be able to ping to your own IP

Hi Raju,
When we assign an HDLC enc, we can able to ping the self IP when interface is in loop mode, but not when we use PPP encapsulation. What is the reason for this.
Thanks ,
Naveen

Because PPP requires the circuit not to be in loopback to work, while HDLC does not.
Anyway, you can disregard all that as it is of little practical significance
