Hello,
If i view "sh int serial" as below, notice that loopback not set. Is this loopback option useful only in wicg703 type card with inbuilt DSU? Or is it useful in normal sync serail ports such as v.35 etc
home#sh int se 0
Serial0 is administratively down, line protocol is down
Hardware is HD64570
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1544 Kbit, DLY 20000 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation HDLC, loopback not set

Hi
Yes , its also useful in normal sync serial ports for giving a local loop to itself and check if the local interface is fine.
Hope this helps

Vanesh,
thanks. But when i enable the loopback on a v.35 serial port, i see that loopback is set.But the interface never came up...any pointers on how to use loopback on v.35 will be greatly helpful.
