maximum number of routes in a Routing table

We are having Hub (WS-6509)& Spokes (2801, 2811) setup with around 200 spokes. While using OSPF we are only sending default route toward the Spokes. In most of my branches we have ISR 2811 Routers. I am unable to find any thing in Data Sheet related to number of routes restriction for the ISR Platform.

As per our certain requirement I have to send my full routing table from my Hub Site which is containing more than 30000 routes to the spokes. I want to check possible impact if I start sending these routes. I highly appreciate if someone can share some report document along with his personal experience by installing higher number of routes in low end platform.

Hi Muhammad,

I remember reading you need about 1GB of RAM for every 750,000 routes. So even if you have default 128Meg, it is good to hold 3K routes. If you want to play safe, maximize the memory on the routers (if you got budget).

30K routes!?  A 2811, with sufficient memory, should be able to easily accept them.  What might be a problem is whether the 2811 has sufficient CPU to deal with that many routes.

Can anyone share any document which can give some idea about CPU/Memory calculation with certain numbr of routes ?
