hi all,
It is required to monitor newly placed WAN link performance . Following details should be obtain. How can I confogure my cisco 1841 router to obtain the following informations.
1) Errors

There are many ways and tools to do this, but what about using cisco command "ip sla", it can measure jitter and errors in several forms. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/technologies/tk648/tk362/tk920/technologies_white_paper09186a00802d5efe.html

Hi,
For errors you can configure SNMP and pump the data to one of the free network monitoring tools like Catci.
For Jitter use IP SLA. See below. It can also be used to measure the MOS score of the link.

hi all,
Thanks a lot for your responses. My requirement is this. I want to monitor the jitter in my WAN Link. Because of that I configured the following mentioned ip sla in my branch router. This should graph in my NMS (opennms server) under Jitter graphs. But I can successfully view the packet loss graphs.
Server ---> PE2---->PE1---->Branch Router
Here's my Branch cofiguration :
ip sla monitor
ip sla 1
udp-jitter
owner admin
frequency 30
ip sla schedule 1 life forever start-time now
IPSLAs Latest Operation Statistics
IPSLA operation id: 1
Type of operation: udp-jitter
Latest RTT: NoConnection/Busy/Timeout

Latest operation return code: No connection
RTT Values:
Number Of RTT: 0 RTT Min/Avg/Max: 0/0/0 milliseconds
Latency one-way time:

I didnt receove any data.
Please help me to solve this issue.
Thanks

As Sean mention, use Cacti (free) install the Jitter templates as described here http://forums.cacti.net/about19542.html together with IP SLA.
