MTU Issue

Hi Team,

Im using ASR 903 router and trying to put MTU "(Config-if)# mtu 4470")on BDI however getting the below error

"Interface BDI10 does not support user settable mtu.

When im using "ip mtu 4470"  command is running under the BDI and showing when i see the running config on the BDI interface. However when im running "sh int bdi10" its still show the MTU value of 1500.

Can someome help me understand what is the difference between only "MTU" command and "IP MTU" command.

Also if i can see the MTU set "4470" in BDI running config why its not reflecting when im running "sh int bdi10"

Look at the MTU config : ( also check other any limitations)

Verify this :

The IP MTU configured on BDI should not be greater than the Layer2 MTU configured on the underlying Layer2 interface. For Cisco ASR 900 RSP3 Module the IP MTU configured on a BDI should be equal to the Layer2 MTU configured on the underlying Layer 2 interface.
