Multiple IP's in one Domain?

Hi to all?
This is not related to cisco but IP and network related. I only ask, is multiple ip's possible to point in one domain name? How it works? What is the advantages and disadvantages of it?
For examlpe:
mosnet.com (20.20.20.1 and 30.30.30.1)
Hope theres someone who help me regarding this topic for my understanding.

The flexibility of the domain name system allows multiple IP addresses to be assigned to a single domain name, or multiple domain names to be assigned to a single IP address. This means that one server may have multiple roles, or that one role can be spread among many servers.
