I have an NM-2E2W inserted into slot 0 in a 3620. When I run a 'show int', no interfaces are seen. I ran a show diag...

show diag

Slot 0:

Fast-ethernet port adapter, 0 ports

Port adapter is disabled

Port adapter insertion time unknown

Hardware revision 0.0 Board revision UNKNOWN

Serial number 0 Part number 00-0000-00

Test history 0x0 RMA number 00-00-00

EEPROM format version 0

EEPROM contents (hex):

0x20: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

0x30: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Does anybody have any ideas of what the problem might be?

Hello,

it seems this NM got the "cookie" area zeroed, cannot be recognized and should be RMA if you have a support contract.

Hope this helps, please rae post if it does!

I upgraded IOS, and now show diag at least recognizes the module but the interfaces don't show up in the router.

BBR2# show diag

Slot 0:

Combo 2E, 2W Port adapter, 4 ports

Port adapter is disabled

Port adapter insertion time unknown

EEPROM contents at hardware discovery:

When the router is booting I get the following messages:

smart init is sizing iomem

ID MEMORY_REQ TYPE

000000 UNKNOWN port adapter

TOTAL: 0X0031E5F0

If any of the above Memory Requirements are

"UNKNOWN", you may be using an unsupported

configuration or there is a software problem and

system operation may be compromised.

It looks like the card isn't supported, but all of the documentation says it is. Any ideas?
