Nice, that did the trick. You know what was a killer on this one? All of the documentation I found specifically directed to configure the gig0 interface as I had. At any rate, thank you very much.It's obviously time for me to bone up on IRB.

You answered it. I found a passage in a Cisco Press book that stated that all commands are either priv level 1 or 15 by default, which conflicted with my understanding. So perhaps the book doesn't consider disable, enable exit, help and logout as "...
