No Internet connection via PPPoE (FTTH)

Hey, 

I have troubles to connect the internet from the router and the clients behind. The pppoe connection seems to be established, I got an ip address but no internet connection.  Need help!

i solved the problem. It was the authentication type of pppoe. I used chap but the provider accepts just pap - unfortunately the debug of pppoe authentication didn't show any issues.

the access list used for NAT does not look right. Make the changes marked in bold:

is it a difference to the extended access list 197? 

I tried to remove the previous command - but it is not possible: "%Dynamic mapping in use, cannot remove"

The nice thing I solve other issues of NAT with other engineer and I read that there is restriction in NAT overload.

Now 

Disable ip nat inside from interface 

Change ip access-list 197 from using permit ip any any to 

Permit ip 172.x.x.0 0.0.0.255 any 

Remove other permit

Then

Enable ip nat inside in interface again

the extended access list contains a 'permit ip any any' which is not a good idea for NAT, since it translates everything including the interface(s).

well I've changed the access list 197 to: 

ip access-list extended 197
30 permit ip 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 any
40 permit ip 172.20.100.0 0.0.0.255 any

but I cannot even ping e.g. 8.8.8.8 from the router itself

What is this subnet? If it what you get from ISP?

If Yes then you dont need it in acl of NAT

Also when you modify acl of NAT 

Do show access-list to check if it correct modify or not

This subnet ist just a local network for tests, there is only one client with a static ip connected to it. It shows "no internet connection" on this network. As i mentioned before, i cannot even ping from the router to the internet. So I ran out of troubleshooting ideas.

1- 192.168.1.0 can not use if the router dont have interface in this subnet 

2- the NAT is working now only 172.20.100.0 since it add under acl of NAT

3- remove this new acl please 

4- show ip route <- share this to see if pppoe interface get IP or not' if you see it get IP use it in ping to 8.8.8.8

Shut and not shut the dialer interface to force it get one correct IP

Then use this IP in ping to 8.8.8.8 to check connect from your rputer to ISP to 8.8.8.8
