Hi

You should have connected this switch to a router (or firewall) running a NAT and connected to the Internet Service Provider, in this case your scheme should be a router in a stick design where the router will have configured the gateways for your vlans and connected switch and router with a trunk.

This link could be useful:

https://ciscoskills.net/2012/01/31/configure-router-on-a-stick/

Could you please provide more details about your topology?

:-)

The 2960G is connected to an ISP's Cabel modem that is only modem Modem does not have a router function. These get an ISP dhcp, Two vlan's configured as if you can see but can not be on the Internet.

Ok thanks

If you are getting IP addresses from the Cable Modem, this device should be providing Internet access, have you rebooted the Cable Modem and making the NAT functions. I am assuming it was working perfectly a time ago and no changes were made at your end, right?

Also check the interface between the switch and cable modem, with show ip interface brief, also try to replace the cable connected between them.

Have you receiving a valid DNS server IPs on your computer? try to change them to 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2 and test again. Also please share a tracert -d www.cisco.com from a PC.

Try to ping the gateway from a PC.

Hello,

I didn't follow the entire thread, but in addition to Julio's remarks, what interface is your cable modem connected to ?

The wan interface is the interface

GigabitEthernet0 / 8
  Switchport mode access
Ip dhcp server use subscriber id client id
Ip dhcp client client id GigabitEthernet0 / 8
  Ip verify source
!

The output

Hi

Apparently the problem is not on your end, have you escalated the issue with the ISP?
