No RP, no mode. Does it pass multicast?

Hi,

Quick question.

If I have a switch in the middle of other network devices.

And that switch is not configured with an RP nor does it have any interface included in PIM modes.

Does this switch still pass multicast?

Thanks for your time.

At L2 yes it can pass multicast traffic as RP and PIM on interfaces are to do with routing multicast traffic.

At L3 no it can't as none of the L3 interfaces have been configured to route multicast traffic.
