Hi All,

Not able to ping a server directly connected from Switch via Patch Panel but able to see the MAC address of the same server under Switch MAC table. Also, the same server IP is pinging from other Switches as well on Network.

Clear the ARP cache but without any luck, shut / no shut that particular port as well. Still , not able to ping the server IP from the switch on whhich it is directly connected.

Need help from expert.

Regards,

TB

Sw IP : 10.203.96.11       from this sw we are unable to ping server 10.203.101.67.

Sw IP : 10.203.96.12      from this sw, I am able to ping the server 10.203.101.67.

let me know if you require any further information  on the same.

Hi,

I suppose the switch is L2 only?

What are the subnet masks used?

I suppose the switch IP address and the server IP address are NOT in the same subnet?

So what is the default gateway configured on the switch?

What does traceroute to the server show?

Can you compare with the output from the switch which Pings successfully?

HTH,

Milan
