NTP master -how to make clock set become permanent

I understand that most of the cisco switches does not have a battery-supported system clock. The better solution is to setup the NTP server and let the rest of the switches to synchnorise the clock with it. How about cisco switch 4948? Does it have a battery-supported system clock?

If the cisco switch 4948 is the NTP master, how I am going to make sure that the clock will not be reset after reload?

You would usually point the NTP master to a high level stratum NTP source (stratum 1 or 2). This could be an external NTP source or an atomic clock within the network.

When the device retsarts it will resynchronise it's clock with the higher stratum ensuring it's clock stays accurate.

You may be able to use "ntp update-calendar". It will sync the hardware clock with the ntp synced clock and occasionally save the ntp time to the system. When the system reloads, the last synced time will be applied.

ntp update-calendar will do it if the switch has a battery. If the command is not on IOS then the switch does not have a battery.
