I have a TV distribution system on site where the core switch is a nexus 9K at a distant branch a Catalyst 9300, my WAN provider is not supporting multicast routing, so the branch can not see the multicast stream. I have attempted to create a GRE tunnel, however although I have a tunnel when entering the command on the nexus switch tunnel interface "ip pim sparse-mode" i get "Command rejected as PIM is not supported for tunnel intf"
Is there another way of achieving multicast over the WAN between Nexus and a IOS switch? or am i attempting something that cant be done?
mynexusswitch(config-if)# ip pim sparse-mode
Command rejected as PIM is not supported for tunnel intf
