packet tracer 1.5.3.5/6 not responding

I was wondering if anyone has come across this before.

I have just started my course in cyber security and the first 2 activities aren't working the same as the videos online show, it seems whenever I use any application within the desktop (web browsing and sending emails).
I am getting slapped with a network time out or an error.

even with these errors I'm still able to finish the activities with a perfect score, witch leads me to believe there is an issue with the application itself rather than the activities.

I have redownloaded all recourse and the application itself and have run the program as admin, both leading to no solution
does anyone know of any other solutions?

@ddalgliesh1 can you check if http service running on that server? also you can share the pkt file here to check
