packets ignored on T1

What problem does it indicate when the input packets are ignored? I know that indicates the hardware runs low on internal buffers. Does it indicate a hardware issue? How do I check sanity of the hardware (it's a CHOC12).

#show inter Se7/0/0.6/25:1

Serial7/0/0.6/25:1 is up, line protocol is up

Hardware is C10K CHOC12 One Port

... ...

56807623 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 56807623 ignored, 0 abort <=== ignored

Sarah

Over which period of time you had this, what is the total input counters, and are the "ignored"still increasing ?

Hi Paolo,

The interface stat was never cleared, but I retrieved it every second for a few seconds, and the ignored count keeps on increasing.

Hi,

Not sure if user on that circuit are complaining but if the error counter is correct, they should because they amount to like 80%.

Now one should look at all this box entirely because such an high rate of "ingore" is not normal.Since it is an high-end router and you likely have a support contract, I suggest you contact the TAC where there are specialized teams for this kind of problems.

Hi Paolo,

Thanks, I'll contact TAC.
