PPP Multilink with LLQ and AIM Hardware Compression

Hello Guys,

Just wanted to check if anyone has managed to get this or similar working.

Will be trying a third version of code tonight (12-3-15). I have already tried 12-3-11T3 and 12-3-14T without success.

Here is a brief overview

2x 3725 Routers

One has WIC-2T modules and the other a NM-2CE1-T1-PRI

module.

The multilink is 2x E1

Each unit has a AIM-COMPR4.

I am using CBWFQ with a priority of 50% and burst a value.

The problem is a follows:

The minute I enable compression and it becomes active I loose ALL WAN connectivity. I can still telnet into the ethernet of the router on my local side. The QOS appears to be working. The sh compress commands tell me it's working and I get 2:1 ratios but all traffic is dead. I can't even ping the remote WAN IP address.

Have tried LZS,MPPC,STAC and Predictor.

Any ideas ???

Hello There,

No need to worry. It was the code. In fact I highly recommend staying away from 12.3.14T2 (Regardless of feature set). We started having random CPU spikes and only a hard boot would sort out the problem.

Loaded up 12.3.15 IP PLUS and it worked like a charm. Currently getting on average 2.8 to 1 ratio. Users still manage to push the 4Mb to the limit. No apparent additional latency. Running extensive testing this week.
