PPPoE to PPPoA bridge with 877 DSL router and PIX 515e

Hi, i have a PIX 515e and a 877 dsl modem (which dials upto my PPPoA account).

In the uk i used a linksys adsl modem in a bridged mode, where it allowed PPPoE connections to be made and it would actually bridge to the native PPPoA link, as can be seen here: http://www.thinkbroadband.com/hardware/reviews/2005/q4/linksysADSL2.html

Is it possible to do the same such that the pix firewall initiates the dialup and provide the username and password (abliet being a PPPoE type link), and have the 877 dsl router brige and dialup transparantly? The pix firewall would then receive the dhcp ip address for its bridged interface.

Currently i have to NAT the 877 and ive been having some routing problems, having the pix firewall actually run the dialup link would be much easier for me.

Is the above possible?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Hi

I was trying to do  a PPPOE authentication over a PPPOA ADSL modem on PIX 515e in UK. I have sucessfully used a Draytec Vigor 120 Modem to do the authentication and get a public IP address on the outside port on the pix.. Please make sure the you use separate subnets and add a route command on the pix 515e  which mentions the outside interface as a gateway.

Also, I used NAT command on pix 515e to the address translations.
