Problem with G.703 unstructured line

Hello,

I´m having two Cisco 1841 with a VWIC-1MFT-G703 interface. IOS: 12.3(11)T.

Both routers should establish a 2Mbps Connection.

Because it is a unstructured line from Deutsche Telekom one of my Routers has to provide the clock.

Therefor I´ve configured the E1-Interface on my routers the following:

Router 1 with internal clocking:

controller E1 0/0/0

clock source internal

channel-group 1 unframed

detect v54 channel-group 1

Router 2:

controller E1 0/0/0

channel-group 1 unframed

detect v54 channel-group 1

At router 1 (internal clocking) we experience lots of "slip seconds" on controller e1.

Controller E1 of Router 2 runs without any errors.

Is there anything wrong in my configuration. What could be the reason for this?

Thanks for any idea

Without a rate adapting digital modem you would need structured G.704 service, which can be supplied in 64 Kbps increments. Structured G.704 service may or may not be available from your carrier. the router itself has no way to throttle the clock rate to a slower speed but it would probably accept lower speeds in multiples of 64kbits.
