QOS Newbie: CISCO router and DELL switches

Hi,

I am planning to configure QOS on CISCO routers in our MPLS network whereas the switches are DELL 3548P.

I am not sure if the routers and switches are compatible but when I did a "show qos' on the DELL switches, I got:

console#show qos

Qos: basic

Basic trust: vpt

Does anyone know if this means the switches are compatible with CISCO QOS?

Hi,

nowadays the DiffServ model is in use, which implies QoS has PHB behavior, i.e. per hop behavior. Check what features are being supported by that Dell thingy and you will figure out what you could have in your network.
