Query on 6500

Hi All,

I had a question regarding 6509 chassis where we had installed two supervisor in slot 5 & 6.

SUP720-#B is installed in both slots with MSFC3 & PFC3 installed on both SUP.

Both SUPs have same IOS version. But PFC & MSFC have different HW versions.In this case, will redundancy work?

Pls. suggest.

AFAIK yes redundancy will work. RPR & SSO redundancy modes are not denpendant on HW versions of code, only IOS.

Sadly I do not have any docs on this - all my experiance has been hands on.

I have run 6500's & 7300/7600 routers on differenet module HW code and IOS versions.

If you are not 100% - open a TAC case.
