Questions about Password Recovery on Catalyst 2940 Series Switch

Greetings,

I'm attempting to use the password recovery procedure on this page:

This is for a cisco catalyst 2940 series switch. Evertyhing does fine until I get to the portion where I need to enter "conf t" mode, then I get "authorization failed" I've tired the procedure several times so it's not a fluke or anything. Can anyone tell me what might be happening here?

Actually, I'll mark this thread as solved. I figured out a way around the password problem.
