Regarding IOS in 7206

Hi Team,

We could not able to upload an IOS for 7206 router with NPE-150 via xmodem as there was no image available in flash it is in rommon mode. But same can be done in 1841. So how to upload an image in flah for 7206 via xmodem.

Where the IOS will be stored in 7206, wethet in flash or NPE.  If it's in flash what for NPE used other than for routing engine capabilities.

on 7200, if you are using NPE150, the image is stored in your I/O controller

So can't we load the IOS in External flash for the use. and please clarify my  1st query, we were not getting Xmodem option in 7206. then how can we load IOS.

Hi Naveen

Yes. You can use the external flash to boot the router. But the external flash will be on the I/O controller.
