Regarding Loops

Hi team,

In WAN trouble shooting if the link is terminated to serial ports and if there is any media issues in the link, ISP will arrange the loop to check the health of the link, so we can able to see the looping in the serial ports. But in case if the WAN link is terminated to Ethernet interfaces how to check the loop which was initiated from ISP, wehtr ethernet will support to check for looping, if not how to trouble shoot the ethernet link media outages.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Naveen

Dear Mr Naveen

You cannot check local or remote loop (or) loop break when using the Fast Ethernet.

When Matter comes to Troubleshooting, You wll get the alarms if you are using any Modems.

When you log a call with vendor, he can identify the issue basing up on his architechture he is using, like vendor will be able to identify location of issue basing upon the alarms on their devices

if cable issues are there you may find CRC errors,

In your deviceyou can check Reliability it should be (255/255)

If vendor claims that there is no issue from his side then we must be able to ping the vendor interface IP when we connect the cable directly to our LAPTOP.

If we are unable to ping try to change the cable which you are not suspecting to be faulty.

Even though you are unable to ping how ever vendor should come in to picture for the investigation of area of issue.
