restart of ibgp peer with no impact?

hello,

I was wondering the best procedure to have a change done in 1 of my bgp routers?

our setting is 2 routers doing IBGP connecting to 2 ISP routers (on the same AS), we are doing load balacing with cef per destination.

our core routers connect via OSPF with the internal routers (which are also doing loadbalancing towards the 2 cores).

I need to stop 1 of this routers, can I do this without any user impact?

So, I was thinking about using a route-map to change MED so, all traffic, coming into my AS, would come into a single router (CORE1). And use "max-metric router-lsa" on the core2 , so Distributions routers would stop using this core router.

This way all traffic would start to flow through my core1 router.

Question is? will this cause impact for traffic that is currently flowing through CORE2?

C1 has 2 uplinks for 2 routers on the ISP

C2 has 2 uplinks for 2 routers on the ISP
