Retrieving 1760 serial number remotely?

There has got to be a way to retrieve routers serial number remotely?

Anybody know answer? If so please direct me....

Unless the router was preconfigured with the "snmp-server chassis-id " command, you wont be able to retrieve it remote. You will have to read it off the box.

Georg, thanks for the info, for some reason evreytime i click on the link, it goes to a log on page, i enter cco info and then

http: prohibited page, username passowrd invalid...

Hi,

you can find the Router serial #, chasis #, motherboard serial # by typing "show version"

Serial number of chassis is not displayed by show version. You get the motherboard serial number.

Depending on IOS version you can try the show inventory command.
