Hello,
I'm trying to get my router to accept the DNS server sent through from the service provider. I've configured the commands below, which are connecting fine and also getting an IP ok.
I'd like to be able to get a DNS server address from the service provider and then make this available to users of the DHCP scope on the router.
Anyone got this working?
thanks,
Mark
interface Dialer1
description Connection to Internet
ip ddns update www.dyndns.com host www.dyndns.com
ip address negotiated
ip mtu 1492
ip nat outside
ip virtual-reassembly
encapsulation ppp
dialer pool 1
dialer-group 1
no cdp enable
ppp chap hostname
<username and password ommitted>
ppp pap sent-username
ppp ipcp dns accept

I'm planning for this as well, but haven't tried it. Anyway here is the source I've been looking for, hope it helps.

Hi,
Many thanks. The link is an excellent resource for dynamic DNS, which I'm also looking at.
In my case, I just want to be able to accept the DNS server sent by the service provider as part of the PPP negotiation. .
Any ideas for me on that one?
thanks in advance,
Mark
