Router on a Stick and Wan interface input and output errors

Hi,

in my Set up i have a 3620 Cisco router.

8 branch offices are connected to this router.and i have 5 Vlans are connected to this, i mean using subinterfaces in Fa0/0.

Vlan Users are working fine there is no problem at all.but if i see the wan interface output " Sh interfaces"

its showing input and output errors.

inter vlan traffic flow is bit high, but users are fine they are not reporting any problem.

Wan connection is also fine there is no line drop, but when i see this interface input and output rate, to be frank im scared. Can anybody suggest whats happening. i'm attaching the interface output file.

It might not be as bad as you fear. When I look at the error/total ratio's the error level is far below 1%. Nothing to worry about really.

Most of the errors seen can be generated in an instance when the link comes up.

Please try the following:

Check your error counts for a particular interface (or all of them) and repeat that test after 5 mins, 1 hour and one day. If you see a steady increase int the amount of errors you might have reason for concern. Looking at your isssue I expect that this will not be the case.

You must be younger than I am! I tend to do this kind of math either by head or using the calculator on my windows desktop.

The formula is as follows:

divided by * 100%
