Hi All,
I'm after some quick advise on sizing a router for a 1Gbps Ethernet WAN circuit with a current CIR of 20Mbps and a requirment to support a maxium CIR of 50Mbps.
As the WAN is on a sub rate connection the router will need to perform traffic shaping and LLQ/CBWFQ. There is no requirment to provide IPSec, NAT or firewall functionality. Full duplex support is required so I will need a router that can provide 100Mbps thoughput with QoS support
From Cisco's performance overwire white paper, I see that the Cisco 1941 can provide 120Mbps with HQoS. Am I right in thinking that this number is full duplex? Will the 1941 be adeqaute for my needs or will I need to look at a 2921 which Cisco positions for 50Mbps WAN circuits?
Thank you

No, I believe that number for total aggregate, i.e. divide by two for duplex - it should be 60 Mbps, full duplex.

Perhaps, really depends on your device config and your traffic. If you will only be doing HQoS and your traffic mimics IMIX, the 1941 should (just about - barely) deal with your maximum of 50 Mbps (duplex).
Athough the 1941 looks like it may handle the load, a "faster" router would provide some additional reserve performance. Besides the 2921, you might consider the 2911.

laugh - sure
I only have it after (?) Cisco changed its User agreement for using this site.

I have 100mbps circuit, using a 2911 router.
I would only use 1900 series for branch office WAN links. 2900 I would use for WAN terminiation and Internet pipe in an HQ site.
