Routing multicast Sonos Inter Vlan

Hi All,

I have a client who has 2 vlans.  Van 1 is the clients general devices PC's printers, Apple TVs etc.. and they have 8 Sonos recently installed.  They have a Control system (Crestron) which on the 2nd Vlan wiht a number of wall mounted touchpanels which has the ability to run an Android Sonos Instance.  Its quite a large environment and being a legacy system not practical to flatten the network.  I have a Cisco 867VAE router providing the inter vlan comms and have configure the following

Global

     IP multicast-Routing

     ip igmp snooping Vlan 1

     ip igmp snooping Vlan 2

On interface Vlan 1

    ip pim Sparse-dense-mode

Interface Vlan 2

    ip pim sparse-dense-mode

Below is the Multicast Interface Show

Vlan1 is up, line protocol is up
Internet address is 192.168.111.1/24
Multicast routing: enabled
Multicast switching: fast
Multicast packets in/out: 14961325/6
Multicast TTL threshold: 0
Multicast Tagswitching: disabled
Vlan2 is up, line protocol is up
Internet address is 192.168.112.1/24
Multicast routing: enabled
Multicast switching: fast
Multicast packets in/out: 751025/18
Multicast TTL threshold: 0
Multicast Tagswitching: disabled

I can see the Multicast Group 239.255.255.250 being registered on Vlan 1 where the Sonos are located.

IGMP Connected Group Membership

sh ip multicast groups
Group Address Interface Uptime Expires Last Reporter Group Accounted
239.255.255.250 Vlan2 00:05:41 00:01:19 192.168.112.4
239.255.255.250 Vlan1 00:26:27 00:02:47 192.168.111.121

Above 192.168.111.121 is a Sonos Amp

192.168.111.4 is a test PC on the AV Vlan running the Sonos Controller software as a test to see if Multicast routing operational.

The Sonos and the PC are connected to the same Switch and Switch (SG350) with default Multicast settings ie.. Multicast treated as Broadcast.

Has anyone got a working setup or some pointers as to where I may be going wrong?

Regards

David

we are missing here information, how is your SG 350 configured and connected to the router here?

where is this device connected: switch? what is the PC IP address ?

192.168.112.4
192.168.111.121

here is the document to enable multicast on SG  ( make sure you allowed VAN in the Trunk connected to Router)
