Hello!
I have always been confused about how this works.
I have 2 Hosts on the same LAN. Both Hosts have 10G NIC's. Both Hosts connect to a L2 10G SG350GX Switch that connects to a L3 1GB SG500X Switch (has the routing and PBR and all that).
If HOST 1 sends data to HOST 2, will it transfer at the L2 10G or will it reduce to 1G as the "routing" goes through the L3 1G.
Meaning, is there routing logic on the L2 to keep the data from host 1 to 10g to host 2, or will it have to communicate with L3 1G cause it hosts the DHCP Server.

If the hosts are in the same vlan they will not need to go to the L3 switch.
If they are in different vlans they will.
