Hi,
I study the multicast service. I have one question.
If there are three routers
R1
loopback 0
192.168.1.1 255.255.255.255
R2
loopback 0
172.16.20.1 255.255.255.255
R3
loopback 0
10.5.5.1 255.255.255.255
they are the candidate of RP. which one will be the "right" RP?

Anita,
The highest ip address would be elected as the RP. So it would be R1 in this case.

The highest IP address will become the RP. So R1 would be the RP in your network based upon the IP address.
