Can someone tell me whether there is an IOS command to retrieve the device serial number on a MC3810 router?
If not, is there another way to retrieve this besides looking at the back of the router?
Show version does not provide this information.
Thanks!

hi
Can you try show inventory ? if thts supported in your box would be able to get out the chassis id .
i did see the same kinda post yesterday here in netpro , an user raising some concerns and clarity on the chasisis id shown by the show inventory command ..the o/p matches the serial no :-)

Hi,
We're running mc3810-js-mz.121-22b.bin
The show inventory command is not known by the OS
RT-MC3810#sh inventory

hi
i guess you are required to run something in 12.3 train to have the support for this command in your box..

Hi,
We cannot run version 12.3 since we only have 8MB of flash memory and 12.3 requires at least 16MB of flash.
Any other possibility?

You have to read it off from the router physically (some body has to be on site to do this).
