hi,
just a quick question regarding the difference between smartnet contract vs warranty status. i used cisco smartnet portal to check the coverage on one of our device: https://cway.cisco.com/sncheck/
i got a result wherein contract status: covered then warranty status: expired. what's the difference between the two? should both status indicate 'covered'?
i was able to open a TAC case (only a draft) when i input the serial number of the device.

Warranty refers to tour right to a normal functioning device after purchase.
it may last 1-3 years after purchase (or the lifetime limited waranty….) read the leaflet that comes with your device.
You can have a support contract during the waranty period and after.
this extends your support, both in time and in service
to next-business-day or 24x7, on-site or pickup-and-return, just how you need it.
warranty is free , contract you pay for.
"covered" reflects the status of above mechanisms.
