Subinterface dropping when no traffic being passed

Hi all,

I seem to be experiencing an issue whereby the subinterface on my router will continually drop when there is no traffic being passed on its associated VLAN. I have done a source ping to bring it back up which was successful, however i would like to avoid continually having to do this.

I am just wondering if there is anything i can do to keep this up? I was thinking about maybe setting up IP SLA to keep the traffic flowing on the interface, but i don't have too much experience regarding that so i'm not too sure if i'd be utilising it for its real purpose. I thought maybe someone might have an idea of a more appropriate solution.

Kind regards,

Oli

That shouldn't happen. Could you share the interface config of the router and whatever it is connected to?

Thanks
