When configuring summarization; The maximum metric for the specific routes is used as the metric for the summary route. Is this correct ?

No, I think it is the minimum metric. At least, that is what the CCIE Flash Cards say, when referring to EIGRP. I hope they are right, otherwise I've learned the wrong thing.
