T1 Drop and Insert connectivity issue - Need to verify my configs please

Hello,

I am attempting to configure my ISR4431 with T1 cards to perform drop and insert. Basically its not working, meaning the channels being inserted are not being seen on the other side.

I want to take a 1 channel out (Raw data) of one T1 (Channel 24, 64k) and drop and insert it onto another T1 (Site A) which has channels 1-23 reserved for data and send it across to Site B, and then drop and insert again to send channel 24 to the other T1. Please see my included sketch. It will make it little easier to follow.

 

The problem I have is, the 1x64k channel that are being drop/insert on not being detected on each end from the T1 test set I have connected them.

Frac-T1 (1x64k) is connected to Port 1 on the NIM and Full T1 is connected to P0 toward the WAN.

I have a couple of ISR4431 routers with NIM-4MFT-T1/E1 installed in each one of them. I am running 16.12.4 code.

I have a device that can emulate the T1 network which provides me the clock.

If I put a loop on P1, of lets say siteA, the Test set syncs up and I can successfully run 511 test pattern, and inject erros and see it on the test set. However, once I drop the loop, I lose synchronization.

Be glad to provide more info if needed, and thank you in advance for taking the time to provide suggestions.

Hello,

 

on the 4K routers, you have to enable the below command in global config mode, make sure you have that in your configuration.

 

network-clock synchronization automatic

hello Georg,

I checked that and made sure it was enabled. I am still having sync issue.

On Site A, the T1 port P1, When I perform a loopback local line, the test set syncs up with no issues. I drop the loop and then issue the loop command on P0, thinking maybe it will sync up to that, and it will not sync up.

Curious, if I do have a device that provides me reference clock, what should the clock source be set to the T1 ports? Network or Line?

I think I have tried both settings and I get the same result.

what 'device' is providing the clocking ?

The clock is being provided (simulating Service provider) via an external appliance/device. The two T1's which connect to the appliance, have no issues in regard to Bit errors/Frame loss or anything along that line.
