T3 and T1 on a Cat 6000

Hi,

I need to bring a channelized T3 into a flexwan on a Cat 6000, so I'm looking at the PA-MC-T3. I'm pretty sure that is correct. Now, I need to be able to peal out separate T1s to connect to Adtran 550's and similar devices. Is the PA-MC-8T1 is the correct adapter for this?

The T3 is currently connecting to an Adtran 800+ that is breaking out the T1s to various devices including v.35 serial connections to a Cabletron SSR 8000. We are repalcing the Adtran and SSR. I want to be sure we can provide the existing functionality using the Cat 6000. Can someone please verify I'm doing this correctly? I can provide more technical info if needed. Thank you in advance.

Hi

As per the datasheets available both PA-MC-8T1 and PA-MC-8T1= has reached EOL status.

The possible replacement for this product is PA-MC-8TE1+ and PA-MC-8TE1+= which offers a Integrated channel/data service unit (CSU/DSU)in that case i dont think you need to go for the external Adtran or SSR products.

But when we see the datasheet of PA-MC-8TE1+ and PA-MC-8TE1+= its does speaks about some specific system requirement to work.

Unfortunately Cisco6500 is not included in the list but Cisco7600 is included.

–Cisco 7200 Series Router with NPE-225, NPE-400, NPE-G1

–Cisco 7301

–Cisco 7304

–Cisco 7500

–Cisco 7600

Afaik FlexWAN module extends WAN and MAN connectivity options to the Cisco 7600 and Cisco Catalyst 6500 series & you can install these PA-MC-8TE1+ cards in Cisco7600 on the FLEX WAN Modules.

The same is the behaviour with Cisco6500,but still i would get it confirmed from the CISCO CSE before getting onto implementing the same..

do find the links where the datasheets have been referred..
