Good evening everyone,
I bought a Cisco Router RV042-V03, 2 WAN and 4 LAN ports. I'm trying to configure this router to access a server from the internet via Windows Remote Desktop (outside the local network) using the public IP's assigned by my ISP (internet service provider), but unfortunately I have not succeeded. I bought this router so my server can always have internet access and I can connect to it from outside, using RDP with any of the public IP's, in case if any internet services fails of any provider.
Current status:
* LAN: I have a PC/Server with Windows Server 2008 configured with static IP as follows:
IP Address: 192.168.0.111
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS1: 200.75.51.xxx
DNS2: 200.75.51.xxz
- I have two Internet service providers (ISP) with the following settings in the modems:
ISP1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS1: 200.75.51.xxx
DNS2: 200.75.51.xxz
I have two public ip's pointing to my server and to a DVR, as follows
190.27.80.XXX public IP to my server 192.168.0.111 (accessible from remote desktop)
190.45.90.XXX public IP 192.168.0.200 points to my DVR (which can be accessed from a web browser)
ISP2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 190.146.64.1
DNS1: 200.118.2.XXX
DNS2: 200.118.2.XXX
Also I have a public IP available for use and access to my server
* Cisco Router Gateway mode:
LAN Settings
Device IP address: 192.168.0.10
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
WAN settings:
WAN1 (ISP2):
WAN connection type: Static
WAN IP address: 190.146.64.XX and other settings are the same as described above for ISP2
and the same for the WAN2 with ISP1.
With this configuration it is possible that all the PC's connected to the LAN have internet access (computers are configured on DHCP mode, so the router assings the IPs). The gateway on the server was changed to 192.168.0.10 (the router's LAN) so it could have internet access, but now I can not access this with remote desktop app, neither from outside or inside the local network, through the public or private IP server. If I do ping to the server from a PC within the LAN, this answers me correctly and I can also see the files on the server. I tried to configure one-to-one NAT so the router redirects the server, but it didnt work, I dont know how to do it. What would be the correct configuration of my computers, routers and modems, and dont know if this router may do what I need?
Thank you very much, hope you have the answer!
