Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade IOS in Cisco 7204VXR.
Actually, it's working c7200-ik9s-mz.123-5a. I've tried to upgrade to c7200-ik9s-mz.124-23, and I've change boot system to disk2:c7200-ik9s-mz.124-23.bin, and other IOS, but everytime I restart the router, 7204VXR start with old IOS.
Also, I'm tried to delete old IOS, but router cannot load any new IOS.
Can you help me?
Thank you,

Hi ,
After putting the line
boot system flash disk2:c7200-ik9s-mz.124-23.bin , did you erase the old configuration line pointing the old image which is above ?

To follow up the good suggestion from Kerem, it might help us figure out what is the issue if you would post the output of show run | include boot

Everytime I upload a new IOS, I execute:
- no boot system
- boot system flash disk2:ios
Router#dir disk2:
Directory of disk2:/
1 -rw- 28776396 Aug 31 2004 15:25:28 +00:00 c7200-ik9s-mz.124-23.bin
2 -rw- 18613056 Aug 31 2004 15:27:36 +00:00 c7200-ik9s-mz.123-5a.bin
128030720 bytes total (80640000 bytes free)
Router#sh bootvar
BOOT variable = c7200-ik9s-mz.124-23.bin,1;
CONFIG_FILE variable =
BOOTLDR variable = bootflash:c7200-kboot-mz.123-5.bin
Configuration register is 0x2102

This information is helpful. It does show that the new IOS is on disk2 and that the boot variable is set to the new IOS. If it is not booting the new IOS there must still be some issue. Perhaps there is some issue with the new IOS at boot time. It would be helpful if you would post all the messages sent to the console during the boot process.

Thank you for posting the console messages. It does not show any error that would explain why the new IOS does not boot. If you do show flash, do you see the new IOS in flash? If so then boot system flash should work. If not then please configure with boot system disk2, reload and post the console messages.

Is not possible configure either boot system disk2, neither can execute sh flash: or dir flash:
I tried to enter in rommon mode, and console output shows this message when I push Ctrl+Pause:
