Hi What is difference between a-1000 and 1000 in Nexus7000 when using command show interface status? Please see the below highlighted. Thank you
Eth6/43 dcba connected 500 full a-1000 10/100/1000
Eth6/45 abcd connected 501 full 1000 10/100/1000

If I remember correctly "a-" means auto-negotiated - is there any "speed 1000" in the config of Eth6/45?

Good Day.
If a indicates that the speed of the interface is auto-negotiate then what is the (D) on a-1000(D) stand for?
Your assistance will be highly appreciated,

Hello,
The (D) is the rate mode the interface is in. It means 'rate-mode dedicated'. Have a look at the very good explanation from Steve Fuller in the post linked below:

This is a default behavior in nexus switches.
By default it take duplex and speed as auto that's why we see "-a" here
