We have users that access a remote web application. The connection to the remote destination is through our firewall and down a 100mb connection to system, which is located in another state.
Our failover/backup solution, if the 100mb connection fails, is to use a VPN B2B tunnel to the business that hosts the remote system. Our VPN headend device is an ASA5540, which is in parallel to our firewall.
The problem is, if anything along the 100mb path (routers at either end, or the link itself, were to fail, the users wouldn't know that and would continue to send to a destination that is no longer accessible.
What is the best solution for this problem?
