WIC-1T and E1

Recently we want to connect Internet link of Bandwidth 2M at one of the locations. It has WIC-1T module currently catering to 1M.

We have placed order with X.21 interface  and 2M bandwidth. Our implementation team said that this is the E1 and it cannot be supported by WIC-1T module. This module is good enough only for leased lines.

My questions are:

1. What is the difference between E1 and a leased line? Isn't an E1 is a type of (Synchronus) leased line?

2. Does WIC-1T supports bandwidth upto 2M (as claimed by Cisco)?

Please suggest.

1 no difference.

2 Yes. But it would be better to use a 1921 with native E1 module, VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1

Thanks for quick reply. We have Cisco 1721 and WIC-1T. We don't have liberty to use new generation module.

In that case, what can we do to make E1 work in current setup?

WIC-1T should work.

But, if you get a 1921 with the proper VWIC, you will eliminate the X.21 interface converter, and that is a good thing.
