Hello Team,
We are currently using Meraki in our company, but i don't see any option to monitor the specific applications and their traffic. I see vvAnalytics has that feature so I have few questions regarding SD wan
1. What is the difference between Cisco SDWAN vs Meraki
2. Can we monitor the WAN circuit and other application using meraki?
3. Can we use SDWAN as a monitoring tool like Orion Platform (SolarWinds)?
4. What is CISCO DNA? How it can help us to monitor the network performace?

Hello @ankitohc,
Cisco SD-WAN is a solution that includes a range of devices such as routers and controllers. It provides advanced routing capabilities and supports a variety of WAN connectivity options. SD-WAN is typically used in larger, more complex network environments. It allows for more granular control over routing policies and has a broader set of features suitable for enterprise networks.
Meraki is a cloud-managed networking solution that includes various devices such as routers, switches, access points, and security appliances. It is designed for simplicity and ease of use, with centralized cloud-based management. Meraki is well-suited for smaller to mid-sized businesses and organizations that prioritize ease of deployment and management.
Meraki provides network monitoring features, but the level of detail may not be as extensive as some dedicated SD-WAN solutions.
Meraki Dashboard provides insights into overall network performance and usage, but the granularity may not be as high as what you might find in a dedicated SD-WAN solution like Cisco SD-WAN.
SD-WAN solutions are primarily designed for optimizing and managing the performance of wide-area networks. While they provide monitoring capabilities, they are not typically used as standalone monitoring tools like the Orion Platform from SolarWinds. SD-WAN solutions focus on intelligent routing, application performance optimization, and security for WAN traffic.
As concerned Cisco DNA, it is a holistic network architecture that includes a range of solutions to help organizations build and manage their networks. It encompasses various technologies and solutions, including SD-WAN, for creating an intent-based networking environment. Cisco DNA provides capabilities for automation, analytics, assurance, and security. It is a part of this architecture and serves as a central management platform for policy-based automation and assurance.

hi @ankitohc
1. cisco SD WAN need selected set of devices such as licensed routers, controllers to make the SD WAN. meraki needs meraki MX to creation of SD WAM
2. yes. WAN can monitor in WAN settings and applications can monitor with insight,
https://documentation.meraki.com/MI/Intro/Meraki_Insight_Introduction
3. SDWAN is not for monitoring. solarwinds have its own user cases and SDWAN is different.
4. DNA is generally single control platform integrated all cisco products. this can use to monitor network performance with certain tools.
