SD-WAN - Cellular Pluggable Interface Module (PIM)- Dual SIM Card

Hi,

Is it possible to provide the output of 'show ip interface brief' from an SD-WAN router that uses a PIM module with a dual SIM card?

I am little bit confused by these statements :

  • Only one SIM is active at a time.
  • SIM switching is handled by the cellular controller based on link conditions (e.g., signal strength, loss of connectivity).
  • The Cellular interface remains the same regardless of which SIM is active.

Does it mean that we will see only one cellular interface with the IP address of the active SIM card in the output of 'show ip interface brief'?

The second SIM card, which is not active, will not have an IP address assigned until it becomes active — correct?

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/iot-antennas/cellular-pluggable-modules/b-cellular-pluggable-interface-module-configuration-guide/m-sim-cards-on-the-pim.html#concept_hxk_csy_21b

Many thanks for the support.

Jan

Modem support for the pluggable modules is accomplished through the use of a SIM. With two SIM cards inserted into one pluggable interface module, the cellular radio still only connects to one active SIM at a time. By default, the SIM in slot0 is primary SIM. Using IOS-XE CLI the user can make SIM in slot1 as primary.
