Hi,
I have to add a pair of N2Ks to Existing N5Ks. There is already a pair of N2Ks attached to N5Ks.
What are the steps required to perform this task ? Also, can I combine FETs with SFPs for N2K connection on a single switch.
Do I need any downtime for the already connected N2K and N5K or any service disruption during this activity?
Thanks

Hi,
What are the steps required to perform this task ? Rack the 2ks and run the cables to 5ks and plug in the SFP+s or FETs on both sides. If the link comes up create your VPC config and than do a "sh fex" if all configured correctly you should see the new FEXs online.
can I combine FETs with SFPs for N2K connection on a single switch.
No, use FETs or 10Gig SFP+. Every 2k comes 4 FETs in the box so that should be enough to connect the FEX to both 5ks using 10Gigs.
Do I need any downtime for the already connected N2K and N5K or any service disruption during this activity?
No, no need for any downtime. Your old FEXs should be untouched.

Can you mark the post as answered, so others can benefit from it?
