Hi all,
I was learning about BGP-EVPN, and would need some help with bridge domains.
Q1: Can you confirm I can re-use VLAN IDs in different bridge domains on a switch for different tenants? I mean a setup like this:
Tenant |
A |
A |
B |
B |
L2 VNI |
30100 |
30200 |
35100 |
35200 |
Bridge domain |
1 |
1 |
2 |
2 |
Leaf switchport |
Eth1/8 |
Eth1/9 |
Eth1/15 |
Eth1/16 |
Mapped VLAN on leaf switchport to the VNI above |
100 |
200 |
100 |
200 |
This way the dot1Q header would be the same on Eth1/8 and Eth1/15, yet they still would belong to a different L2 domain (VNI) because of the different bridge domain associated to them. Am I right or missing something here?
Q2: If the answer to the above is yes, why are bridge domains available only on the N7k series and not on N9k & N5k? I mean this is an efficient way to offer all VLAN IDs to all tenants, and it doesn't even gets messy like it would with scoped leaf configuration.
Thanks in advance.
