Changing system default switchport in running system

Hi 

I have a setup using Nexus 5K with 2K fexes. Default switchport state is active. I would like to change this with the command:

 system default switchport shutdown

Im not sure what will happen to all the currently active ports - i cannot find any documentation where this is explained. 

Have any of you done this ?

Or have anybody seen documentation about this ?

Looking at the below they will all change so you might want a window running a command like that

system default switchport shutdown

To configure all Layer 2 switchports to be Layer 3 routed ports, use the system default switchport shutdown command. To reset to the default of all Layer 2 swithports, use the no form of this command.

system default switchport shutdown

no system default switchport shutdown

 

Syntax Description

This command has no arguments or keywords.

 

Command Default

The default is all ports configured as Layer 2 switchports.

I would also like to remove the "system default switchport shutdown" to make my Nexus 9K ports Layer 2 by default.

Does anyone know if this is disruptive or what effect it will have to L2 and L3 interfaces already configured?
